WE'RE HERE TO SERVE
The Capital District Squash Racquet Association (CDSRA) is a not-for profit corporation. We are recognized as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization so that a portion of your dues and all gifts will be deductible for federal income tax purposes. The CDSRA is a local affiliate of the United States Squash Racquets Association (USSRA) and is run by a volunteer board of directors elected by the membership at large. The CDSRA's primary function is to promote squash at every level of the game.
You are automatically a member of the USSRA when you join the CDSRA as a regular member, entitling you to all of the benefits of both associations
CLINICS/EXHIBITIONS
The CDSRA organizes and sponsors several clinics each year for players of all levels. The clinics provide CDSRA members the chance to receive their first lessons or more advanced instruction for experienced players. The Association also hosts exhibitions with top amateur and professional players. These events are offered free of charge or at a reduced rate for members of CDSRA.
LEAGUE PLAY
The CDSRA currently offers, exclusively to its members, leagues for "A" (NRS 4.6 and above), "B" (NRS 4.1-4.5) and "C" (NRS4.0 and below) levels of play. The leagues guarantee our members a weekly match from October through March. Check with your club to see in which leagues they have entered teams this season.
TOURNAMENT PLAY
As a member of CDSRA, you will be eligible to play at a reduced rate in all locally and nationally sanctioned tournaments. Players looking to test their skills in tournament play will find many opportunities throughout the year to compete for trophies and gain recognition both in the Capital District and in other cities throughout the United States. In most tournaments, flights are restricted by ability or by age, thereby offering the players an opportunity to compete at his or her level.
JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT
The CDSRA is committed to the development and growth of squash among young players of both sexes. Toward this end, the CDSRA has assisted in sponsoring programs to advance squash among young players ages 6-18.
NEWS ABOUT SQUASH
As a CDSRA member, you will receive a year-long subscription to Squash Magazine, a monthly publication devoted entirely to squash. The CDSRA also has periodic newsletters full of information on local tournament and league results as well as information on upcoming tournaments and events of interest.
In addition, you will receive the national tournament schedule, the USSRA annual yearbook and mailings from both the CDSRA and USSRA to keep you abreast of all the activities on the squash calendar. Call 477-5499 for more information about the CDSRA.
