Lifetime Honorary Members

Ann has had many roles in the CDSRA and the Calgary Soccer community. She was a FIFA AR at the peak of her career as an official. On the local scene, Ann was also the referee assignor when that responsibility was bestowed upon a member of the CDSRA. Ann has been a member of the CDSRA for nearly 40 years.

Jack most recently was an assessor who provided great feedback and learning opportunities to many young officials. Jack has a great demeanor, and this allows him to connect with referees in a manner that allows them to learn through their experiences that he is able to highlight for referees in his assessments.

At the pinnacle of Kim’s career she had reached the status of FIFA Referee. Kim always enjoyed traveling to tournaments around Calgary and wherever her FIFA experiences took her. As a local referee, Kim was an amazing person for young referees to work with.

She connected with young refs well, and constantly celebrated the great decision-making ability that she saw from up and coming referees. Her confidence in younger officials gave many of them great confidence as they grew as referees.

Since the beginning of the CDSRA, Kieran McGarrigle was one of our founding members who had a passion for developing referees and helping them to meet their potential.

Kieran was a team of CDSRA members who had a vision for how to help educate referees beyond the entry level courses. He advocated for and designed the first refresher courses to help referees become re-familiarized with the Laws of the Game.

Referee education in Calgary, Alberta and Canada would not be in the position that it is today without the vision, perseverance and the hard work that Kieran McGarrigle put into developing a better education program.
