Congratulations to Alberta Referees Officiating at 2023 Toyota National Club Championships

The Calgary District Soccer Referees Association (CDSRA) is proud to celebrate the outstanding performance of its members at the 2023 Toyota National Club Championships, which took place in various locations across Canada on October 4-9. The tournament brought together some of the best teams in Canada, and the CDSRA was thrilled to have its officials represent our association on the national stage.

Lilian Ryu (Edmonton) attended the U15 competition in Waterloo, ON. This was Lillian’s first national competition where she was the referee on the Girl’s opening match and was an assistant referee on the Girl’s final.

Joshua Gall (Calgary) attended the U17 competition in Moncton, NB. This was Joshua’s first national championship where he was the referee on a Boy’s semi-final match, as well as the fourth official on the Boy’s final.

“Attending U17 National Championships put into perspective what it takes to become a national list official and strengthened my desire to continue pursuing a higher level within refereeing. Officiating while surrounded by some of the best assessors and instructors in the country is something that I would love to continue to be a part of in seasons to come.”

-Joshua Gall

Mazen Hassanin, Mazzen Black, and Harsimrit Lakhyan attended the Senior Competitions (Jubilee Shield and Challenge Cup) in Halifax NS. These officials were joined by an array of fellow NextGen and Women’s Program officials and showcased their talents at one of the top competitions in the country.

Congratulations to these officials for this great accomplishment and representing Alberta at the national stage!
